Along with blacked-out styling, the new special-edition Taycans have a larger battery pack and additional standard features.
Porsche has announced new Black Edition models for the 2026 Taycan, Taycan 4, and Taycan 4S.
All Black Edition Taycans come with gloss black trim, the higher-capacity Performance Battery Pack, and a wide array of standard features.
Porsche hasn’t released pricing information yet, but says that deliveries should begin in the fall of this year.
It’s no secret that Porsche loves its special-edition models. Stuttgart has already pumped out five limited 911 variants this year, each with its own unique visual theme. While the enthusiast crowd generally has a heartier appetite for special models of the gas-powered, rear-engined variety, Porsche is giving its electric sedan a similar treatment with stealthy new Black Edition Taycan models.
Black Edition variants will be available for the lower-tier trio in the Taycan range, including the base model, the Taycan 4, and the Taycan 4S. As the name suggests, the new models lean into a blacked-out visual theme for both the exterior and interior. All Black Edition Taycans feature the SportDesign exterior styling package in gloss black (a nearly $4000 option on standard models) that includes a sportier front fascia, extended side skirts, and a rear diffuser.
The dark motif also extends to the window trim, rear badging, brushed aluminum doorsill guards, and interior trim. While almost all of the gloss black accents can be optioned on standard Taycans for an often hefty fee, black side mirrors are exclusive to the special-edition variants; so is a Special Black Edition package, which brings some additional flair with “Black Edition” lettering on the doors, illuminated sill guards, and key. Buyers who want a less on-the-nose exterior color have the option of selecting Volcano Grey Metallic, Dolomite Silver Metallic, and Ice Grey Metallic at no additional cost, or can pick from any of the standard Taycan’s other available hues.
Beyond the visual tweaks, the Black Edition adds some other desirable options. The Taycan’s $5780 Performance Battery Plus option comes standard, which ups battery capacity to 97 kWh and increases EPA-estimated range to 318 miles in the base Taycan, 294 miles in the Taycan 4, and 295 miles in the Taycan 4S. The battery upgrade also comes with some performance improvements, boosting output in the base Taycan and the 4 to 429 horsepower and the 4S to 509 horsepower. Other standard Black Edition features include 14-way comfort seats, a Bose surround-sound audio system, surround-view parking assist, puddle light projectors and an interior storage package.
Porsche hasn’t yet released any pricing information for the Black Edition Taycan lineup, but they aren’t likely to be nearly as sought after as some of Porsche’s more involved and exclusive limited-edition models. U.S. deliveries are set to begin in the fall of this year.
